About Me
AlexANDRA Gaty, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker #135782
welcome
At certain points in life, you may feel overwhelmed, unmoored, or unsure of how to move forward. Whether you're navigating a major transition, wrestling with anxiety or self-doubt, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can offer a space to pause and listen, not just to your thoughts, but to the deeper emotional and physical patterns beneath them.
I work collaboratively to help you explore how your past and present experiences shape your inner world. We’ll look at the patterns, beliefs, and relational dynamics that influence how you think, feel, and connect with yourself and others.
Therapy with me is not about quick fixes, but about building insight and trust in yourself so that lasting change becomes possible.

My Approach
My work is grounded in an integrative, trauma-informed framework that respects both your resilience and your complexity. I draw from psychodynamic theory to help illuminate unconscious patterns and relational themes, and from mindfulness and somatic practices to bring more awareness and regulation to your emotional and physical experience. When helpful, I incorporate skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to support emotional clarity, boundaries, and balance.
My approach is informed by my background in philosophy, meditation, and the arts. I’m especially interested in helping clients reconnect with their inner wisdom and agency, even in the midst of uncertainty or emotional pain. Therapy, in this sense, becomes a process of returning to yourself with more compassion, clarity, and choice.
A Bit More About Me
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the arts and studied philosophy, both of which continue to inform my work and how I think about meaning, creativity, and the human experience.
I’ve worked in community mental health settings, with the criminal justice population, and now in private practice with individuals and couples seeking depth, healing, and growth.
