About Me
Maureen Cassidy, AMFT
Associate Marriage & Family Therapist #164120
welcome
Therapy is a place where you can slow down, explore, and reflect on your life and relationships. In therapy we will start by creating a safe, quiet space built on trust and non-judgement. When you are ready, it is a space where you can slow down and reflect and we can begin exploring your personal story together.
My psychodynamic approach explores how early attachment and family of origin influence your current relationships and patterns. I believe within this strong therapeutic relationship, healing begins. My style is warm, interactive and down-to-earth. I value humor and honesty and look forward to connecting with you.

My Approach
My work is grounded in a warm, reliable therapeutic relationship. I welcome you, your story, and all of your inner feelings and experiences. As we begin to explore your world, we look at how your temperament, experiences and prior relationships have shaped who you are today.
I believe that healing happens when we can slow down and untangle our thoughts in the context of a supportive, trusting relationship. I bring knowledge, presence, humor, and boundless curiosity to the therapeutic process.
A Bit More About Me
I came to clinical practice with a rich background in the arts, having spent over a decade studying and working as an actor and comedian in New York City. Additionally, my life as a wife and mother for over 20 years shapes how I sit in the room with my clients.
In addition to working in private practice, I provide onsite psychotherapy for students in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Are you feeling unsure about therapy? That’s completely normal. The best way to find out if we can work together is to have a free call. It’s an opportunity to explore if therapy is the right path and ask any questions. If you decide that we are fit, we can schedule our first session.
If we are not a good fit, we are happy to make a referral to another therapist in my network. We have openings for new patients and currently do not have a waitlist.
All inquiries will receive an email response. Together, we’ll figure out a time to chat by phone.
