Therapy for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
OCD Therapy for adults and teens
Do you find yourself regularly haunted by worries that begin with the phrase, “but what if?” Do you lose time to rituals that you feel like you need to complete perfectly in order to cultivate a sense of reassurance or safety? Do you generally struggle with feelings of uncertainty?
You might be struggling with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, a particular type of anxiety that manifests through vivid, intrusive, obsessional thoughts and repetitive behaviors that are intended to bring relief.
INTEGRATIVE THERAPY FOR OCD
Our therapists offer integrative therapy for OCD. What this means is that depending on your needs and where you are at with your healing, therapy with us includes:
-
We support you in gently and methodically pushing against your compulsions so that the fear begins to quiet and you are able to more easily disengage from the obsessive compulsive loop.
-
Several of our therapists are trained in Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a newer therapy for OCD that supports you in distinguishing between the OCD process and other kinds of thoughts and developing cognitive tools for disengaging from OCD urges and beliefs.
-
We understand that OCD is not the only thing going on in your life. Our therapists flexibly flow between evidence based practices that specifically target the OCD and spacious psychotherapy that facilitates healing for your whole person.
-
We help you and your family develop a comprehensive understanding of what OCD is, where it comes from, and how it might be showing up for you. We also help you and your family develop strategies for supporting your healing, gently decreasing family accommodation, and improving family attunement and communication.
