Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is the gold-standard endorsed by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Is drifting off to sleep difficult for you?
Do you often find yourself up in the night unable to sleep despite being exhausted?
Does the idea of “getting a good night’s rest” fill you with longing… then dread?
It’s common for sleep to get disrupted when we are at a crossroads, coping with depression, or dealing with more stress. Oftentimes, just beginning to talk about what’s going on and process feelings can help sleep return.

How Our CBT-I Therapy Works
We begin with a thorough assessment to better understand the factors that may be affecting your sleep. As part of this process, we use a sleep evaluation approach to help gain a clearer picture of your sleep patterns.
In a nutshell, CBT-I teaches practical skills to improve sleep by examining and then changing the habits and thoughts that may be keeping you awake.
Together, we explore not only your sleep, but also the underlying factors that may contribute to it, such as stress, anxiety, trauma history, or worry about not sleeping.

CO-Occurring Insomnia
Allison Carter, LCSW, PMH-C, IEDS
Sleep Therapist
I remember how hard it was to sleep after having a baby. Now I love helping pregnant and postpartum clients figure out how to sleep again.
We often see clients who struggle to sleep when they are experiencing relationship difficulties, anxiety, OCD, depression, eating disorders or post-traumatic symptoms, or who are struggling to sleep after having a baby.
If this is you, your therapy will probably weave between sleep support and exploration of other vital themes in your life, with a goal of understanding how they relate to each other, and to your underlying experience of yourself and the world.

Get Started
-
Fill out the contact form. Share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with.
-
We’ll have a 15‑minute call to hear a little bit about what’s been going on with your sleep, answer any questions, and see if our approach feels like a fit.
-
We’ll map what’s hardest right now, what you hope to reclaim, and begin laying the groundwork for change.
-
Regular sessions to work through the I-CBT protocol, make sure your sleep quality is steadily improving, and explore any underlying themes that might be related to the insomnia.
